Indiafest 2024

Every year, the Indian community in Brevard county comes together to hold a celebration of their culture, with performances, food, fashion shows, and so much more in Indiafest. In previous years I had not gotten the pleasure to go, so I was very excited to go this year. It's a two day event in Whickem park, where the entry fee proceeds go to a children's hunger charity, and non stop entertainment from start to finish. I got to enjoy watching people of all ages come up to that state in their colorful traditional clothing and jewelry, and perform with pride. One of my friends helps manage this event, so it was exciting to see it all coming together. I was especially excited as my little experience with the indian culture, has shown me that theirs has wealth and depth to their culture that I am constantly learning more and am in awe. The pavilion was packed all day, with non a seat to be found. The roar of cheers at the end of each performance, the captivating visuals as individuals would spin around the stage, and the music being heard any point of the park filled the space with a sense of joy and pride. Each performance was amazing, and I could not help but sit in awe and just take it in. I didn't take a lot of pictures this day since I was mainly there to enjoy the event, but I hope you enjoy some of these snippets from the many hours of fun, and that next time you can come out to celebrate cultures around the community.
