What a perfect way to celebrate!

Kara and Zane have been dear friends of mine for almost 10 years, and I have been so blessed to photograph many milestones over the years. In fact, Kara was my first photoshoot when I got my own camera and started taking and editing photos about 8 years ago. We've come a long way since then and have grown up to move into new phases of life, and continue to celebrate the milestones over the years. And that's what this photoshoot was celebrating- the start of several new phases.

Kara and Zane had just moved back to Tennessee, Zane was graduating with his doctorate, and Kara is pursuing her masters at Johns Hopkins. Three amazing things all happening very close together- and what better way to celebrate than to have a sunset photoshoot! We had a blast hanging out again as friends, as well as playing and dancing around the property with the sun creating a beautiful golden glow to the evening. The glow was perfect for romantic photos spinning around in the gravel and trees. Of course we had to throw in some fun dance moves for old times sake, and include the dogs. I have to say the dogs themselves were quite a hoot, especially when they slipped their collar and started running around in the middle of the family photo (photo 7 on the slideshow). Zane and I also added a surprise for Kara when she looks through her gallery with a photo of Zane holding the pups while she took a quick minute inside. It didn't quite go to plan though as once he lifted the dogs no one could hold a straight face and the dogs tried to wiggle out of his arms. We had to control our giggles before Kara came out to not ruin the surprise. Of course I just got her giggling herself when I decided to lay in the gravel to get the perfect shot. As all photographer know, we will do anything to get the perfect photo. ;P

I have to say, I absolutely love capturing the joy of these two and their lives and can't wait for our next photography adventure.

Until next time- capture your joys and complete all the side quests ;)
